After receiving e-residency approval, you have six months to collect your card from the Ankara embassy. Here is what the process looked like in practice.

Booking and communication

The e-residency pickup option wasn't available on the booking website for the first four months I checked. I tried calling several times to ask about available dates — no answer. I sent an email on November 20 asking about December appointments and received a response on December 3 with a schedule that included a November date (already passed).

Finally, in late December 2025, the e-residency pickup option appeared on the website, and I successfully booked an appointment.

The in-person appointment

My appointment was at 3:00 PM. I arrived 30 minutes early, and the security guard politely explained I needed to wait until 2:55 PM to enter — a reasonable policy for a consulate. The guard was friendly and helpful, speaking both English and Turkish.

The consul was very welcoming and professional. He took my fingerprints, I signed documents, and received my package — the entire process took 5–7 minutes. He speaks English and possibly other languages besides Estonian.

Overall

Despite the communication issues, the in-person experience was very positive and efficient. If you're collecting your e-residency card at this embassy: expect difficulty booking online, and a smooth, quick appointment once you're there. I felt confident they would help with any questions.
