The castle-museum is beautifully situated right on the seafront, surrounded by a wide variety of cafes and restaurants — a lovely area to spend time in before or after your visit.
Entry and tickets
Entry is free with a valid Müzekart — you can use the physical card or the QR code from the Turkish museum app. Tickets are also available at the entrance, with separate pricing for Turkish citizens and tourists. The prices are quite reasonable.
The visit
We visited in early March and there were almost no other visitors. It felt like the entire museum was ours. The weather was sunny and warm, which made the atmosphere truly special — lots of sunlight, fresh air, a pleasant breeze, sea views, greenery, and birds everywhere.
Practical info
Inside the museum grounds there are two cafes, restrooms, and a souvenir shop — though expect typical museum prices at the latter. Worth knowing before you go.
The grounds are vast. Allow at least two to three hours for a relaxed walk-through, and more if you want to properly explore the exhibits. Bring a snack or grab something at one of the cafes — you could easily spend a full day here.
Worth it?
I fell in love with this place and will return every chance I get. I recommend it to everyone — couples, families with children, solo travelers, elderly visitors — truly for all.
